July 31,2007 started off like any other day and then I got a phone call from a number I didn't recognize and heard Chris say "I was in an accident." He was rear ended by a big truck pulling a loaded horse trailer. He was flat on his back for a couple of months and took a med. leave from work. He is doing great now... a year ago I wouldn't have believed it...so we thought we should celebrate our health by challenging our bodies to a good ol' river run at Lava Hot Springs. We decided to make a small trip out of it and took our tent and camped.
Chris was not a happy camper in fact he was in a lot of pain and me being a paranoid wife wouldn't let him take too much pain killer for fear of dependency.
We forgot Chris' contacts and his glasses were way to nice to take down the river with out proper gear. Thank you "Chums" we bought floaties for Chris' glass. They really will float.
Despite what this photo says it really is not a "lazy river" it is complete with water falls and waves.
Just when you think you can relax for part of the trip. Whamo! A rock. You have to float this river with you hind end up or you hate it because at every wave there is a rock and it isn't that far below the surface and your butt will take a beatin. We still had a blast we did it 6 or so times before we were worn out.

Whow I'm glad that he was okay after that. It looks like you guys had a lot of fun during the river run though. We should do a campping trip together sometime. Maybe next summer when I'm not stuck in bed.
